Brexit uncertainty may be bad for many businesses but here at Hampshire Workspace it has created an unexpected boom. We have had our longest period of full occupancy in ten years thanks to businesses who want offices they can rent without long term commitment. As you probably know, we provide serviced furnished offices on a two month rolling contract that includes all utilities and a staffed reception.

Our manager Julia Lewis comments: ‘We have found a number of our new clients are uncertain about the future and are renting an office with us on a temporary basis until they know what is going to happen. We have been full now for nine months.’

Although there are currently some vacancies coming up, Julia says she expects them to be ‘snapped up’: ‘Start ups and people needing temporary accommodation have always been attracted to serviced offices but the current situation has led to unprecedented demand.’

Although Brexit has generally been good for Hampshire Workspace, Mrs Lewis says that at least one business has left because of it: ‘One of our clients whose business is mainly done abroad is relocating to another EU country because he is concerned about the potential increase in administration if Brexit goes ahead.’
