The Story of Hampshire Workspace

Hampshire Workspace was a revolutionary concept when it was launched in Southgate Chambers in 1982 by Sylvia and George Dibben. It was the first serviced office business in Winchester. Since that time some 200 businesses have been launched from there.

George and Sylvia say, ‘The concept of our Clients using services we provide as if they were part of their business remains as valid in today’s world of social media and mobile communications as it was in 1982 when Telephone Switch Boards were routine and the Telex was the latest thing.’

The company has also managed serviced offices in Bond Street and Greenford, London, as well as Industrial Units at Gateshead and Tunstall in Stoke and continues its involvement with the Sanderson Centre, Gosport, which was acquired in 1985.

The Team

Sylvia and George Dibben

As well as owning Hampshire Workspace Ltd, Sylvia and George have been involved with other enterprises at Southgate Chambers including founding WAVE 105FM, Cornerstone Estate Agencies and the social enterprise Fenwick2. George is a Director of Healthmatic and recently retired from A2Dominion Housing Association.


Nigel Pugh

Director. Nigel has been involved in Hampshire Workspace since its inception. He is a Public Notary.


Julia Lewis

Director/Manager. Julia joined Hampshire Workspace in 2013, having owned and managed a number of businesses including the Winchester shop Your Life Your Style. She was previously the Marketing & Sales Manager of The Mayflower Theatre.


Chloe Burton

Reception & Admin. Chloë provides our clients with an excellent, friendly and efficient service.


Tina Jones

Admin Assistant. Tina is the most recent addition to our welcoming team.


Paul Lewis

Provides Marketing & PR services. Paul co-owns Seven Experience, a marketing consultancy.
